Racial Equity Initiative
The Racial Equity Initiative invites you to a special gathering on Sunday June 28th, to build community, share our experiences, and plan our next steps.
For the past two years, the CCP Racial Equity Initiative has been engaged in a process of learning and introspection about race and racism in psychoanalysis in the service of building a more just and equitable organization. To achieve this goal, we are trusting in the power of relationships: building new ones and strengthening old ones so we can have meaningful conversations about how our institute can grow. Last year we convened small reading groups to study the report of the Holmes Commission on Racial Equality in American Psychoanalysis. We were heartened that many reported great satisfaction in this small group work and found a deeper sense of community at CCP. This year we launched our racial equity peer groups to encourage ongoing study and discussion among colleagues.
We now invite all group participants, as well as any interested CCP members, to attend a special summer gathering -- in our new CCP home, in person and online -- to share our experiences over the past year and to plan our agenda for the year to come. All members of CCP are invited, including those who have not previously been part of our initiative but are interested in learning more.
Please join us and register here.
